The aim of the course is to develop your knowledge and awareness of volunteering. You will develop an understanding and awareness of your responsibilities as a volunteer and you will learn about looking for volunteering opportunities.
You will study the following mandatory unit:

  • Volunteering and voluntary organisations 

As well as one of the following two optional units:

  • Working as a volunteer within a chosen organisation
  • Finding out about volunteering and becoming a volunteer

All assignments are set online via Google Classroom and you will be able to complete them at a time convenient to you. You will be expected to work for up to 5 hours per week on activities at home, as directed by your tutor.

  • Knowing about support for mental ill-health.

The total qualification time recommended for this course is 20 hours.
