CONTENT & OVERVIEW
If you are reasonably confident using a mouse and keyboard but have little or no experience of Microsoft Office, then this is the course for you. During the course, you will gain skills in word processing, spreadsheets and creating digital presentations.

SUITABLE FOR
This course is designed for adults who have used a computer before and are reasonably confident using a mouse and keyboard but they may have little or no experience of Microsoft Office (word processing, spreadsheets and presentations).

APPLICATION METHOD
Application is followed by an individual interview and initial assessment to establish your prior achievement in IT.

ENTRY REQUIREMENTS
You must be 19+ years of age by 31 August 2019.  There are no formal entry requirements but you must be able to demonstrate English skills to at least Level 1.

DELIVERY METHOD
You will be taught in a workshop environment, studying independently at your own pace on each of the 3 units you will complete.

HOMEWORK
You will be encouraged to work on activities at home, or in our study area, for approximately 3 hours per week as directed by your tutor.

ASSESSMENT
Your tutor will assess your work. At the end of each unit, you will complete a practical online test. The pass mark is 75% for each unit test.

FURTHER STUDY
Guidance is given throughout the course regarding opportunities and careers. 

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
You will need to bring a notebook, pen and a USB stick with you.

If you are in receipt of the following benefits, you may be eligible for full fee remission:

  • Job Seeker’s Allowance
  • Employment and Support Allowance (ESA) in the Work Related Activity Group (WRAG)
  • Universal Credit and earning less than £338.00 a month (single claim) or £541.00 (household claim)
  • Aged 19-23 yrs studying a first full Level 2 qualification

Fee remission is also available for eligible co-funded learners who are employed but on a low income (less than £16,009.50 annual gross salary)
