Gain an understanding of your emotions so you can manage them better. We will discover what they are for and what they are telling us. Start to look at the emotions behind the emotions and positive vs negative.

Managing & Dealing with our Emotions
What is behind our emotions values and beliefs?
Helping you to understand why we react the way we do and what we can do about it. Learn healthy ways to deal with emotions.

Understanding and Managing Stress
Understanding your stress. Why do we need it? Recognising stress, how you feel when stressed and how to respond and deal with stress and how it affects our bodies.

Tips and Techniques for Managing Stress

Development of your knowledge and understanding of:

  • what stress looks like and how it affects us
  • different types of stress
  • the symptoms of stress
  • different situations that cause stress
  • healthy / unhealthy ways of dealing with stress
  • strategies to deal with stress
  • when help is needed and where to get it.

In person, in a classroom. Including small group activities and class discussions.
Homework
You are required to complete the assessment workbook in your own time. You may also need to do research from various websites which we suggest.

This is a distance learning course, via google classroom.

Content & overview 
This qualification is a short introduction to support you to develop your understanding of Mental Wellbeing. It includes:

  • Understanding what is meant by ‘mental health’. 
  • Understanding how to look after your own mental wellbeing. 
  • Understanding how to support friends and family with mental health difficulties. 
  • Knowing about support for mental ill-health.

The total qualification time recommended for this course is 20 hours.
