This qualification requires the completion of two units;
Effective Communication in the Workplace
The aim of this unit is to consider different forms of communication that the workplace uses. You will demonstrate an ability to use written and oral communication methods effectively.
Working in Business and Administration
Before considering a career in business administration it is important that you know the potential job roles, career pathways and skills you need to succeed. The aim of this unit is to give you time to research job opportunities in the sector, identify the skills and knowledge you will need for specific job roles and then plan how you are going to achieve your ambitions in this area of work.
You will be required to submit a portfolio of evidence for this course.

This qualification is intended to provide you with a broad introduction to the business and administration sector. Equipping you with the underpinning knowledge and skills specific to the sector alongside a range of transferable employability skills. The qualification is designed to support progression to further learning and ultimately to work in business and administration or other related sectors.
You will be required to attend an information session and complete an application form.
You must be 19+ years of age by 31 August 2019. There are no formal entry requirements, but learners would benefit from having Level 1 Functional Skills English or equivalent.
A variety of teaching and learning strategies will be employed, including workshops and through an online learning platform.
You will be expected to work on activities at home between 2-3 hours per week, as directed by your tutor.
The course is continuously assessed using a variety of assessments – written assignments, professional discussions, workbook and question and answer.
Guidance is given throughout the course regarding opportunities and careers. Upon successful completion of this course you are able to progress on to the Level 2 Award in Skills for Business and Administration, Level 2 Certificate in Preparing for Further Study in Business or the Level 2 Certificate in Principles of Business Administration. Alternatively, you could progress on to the Level 2 Certificate in Principles of Customer Service
You will need to bring a lever arch file, A4 document wallets, a notebook and a pen.

- Job Seeker’s Allowance
- Employment and Support Allowance (ESA) in the Work Related Activity Group (WRAG)
- Universal Credit and earning less than £338.00 a month (single claim) or £541.00 (household claim)
- Aged 19-23 yrs studying a first full Level 2 qualification
Fee remission is also available for eligible co-funded learners who are employed but on a low income (less than £16,009.50 annual gross salary)
