CONTENT & OVERVIEW
This follows the Beginners British Sign Language to use the knowledge gained to build
conversational skills. The core vocabulary will be used in common everyday situations using role play, pair work, group work, class work, games and songs. We will explore more unique aspects of sign language and utilise these together with the vocabulary to improve communication efficiency.

This course is designed for adults who have completed the Beginners British Sign Language course
Visit the centre to complete an enrolment form.
You must be 19+ years of age by 31 August 2019. There are no formal entry requirements.
A variety of teaching and learning strategies will be employed including pair work, group work, games and songs.
The course is continuously assessed using a variety of assessments – question and answer, and observation.
Guidance is given throughout the course regarding opportunities and careers. Upon successful completion of this course, you can progress on to the Level 1 British Sign Language course.
You will need to bring a notebook, a pen and an A4 folder with you.

If you are in receipt of the following benefits, you may be eligible for full fee remission:
- Job Seeker’s Allowance
- Employment and Support Allowance (ESA) in the Work Related Activity Group (WRAG)
- Universal Credit and earning less than £338.00 a month (single claim) or £541.00 (household claim)
- Aged 19-23 yrs studying a first full Level 2 qualification
Fee remission is also available for eligible co-funded learners who are employed but on a low income (less than £16,009.50 annual gross salary)
