You must be 19+ years of age by 31 August 2020. You have to have been a resident in the European Economic Area (EEA) for the last 3 years or be a family member of an EEA national.

Content & Overview
The course provides you with an understanding of the knowledge and skills needed when working directly with children. During the course you will be expected to:
- Produce a portfolio of evidence showing knowledge and competence in a range of subjects including:
- children and young people’s development
- supporting positive behaviour
- health and safety
- professional relationships
- be observed in your workplace
- produce a display
- complete a weekly learner journal
This course is aimed at people working, or volunteering, in roles that support pupils’ learning in primary, secondary or special schools as well as colleges and need a qualification to progress within their career.
Contact our customer services team on 01724 297146 or fill in the form below. You will attend an information session, followed by an initial assessment.You MUST have a current DBS certificate and be working or volunteering in a learning environment with pupils aged 5 and above.
You will attend an induction session where you will be shown how to use Google Classroom. The remainder of the course will be via distance learning and you will undertake independent research. You will be expected to attend tutorials/study sessions each month to be agreed with your tutor. Your tutor will assess your work by written assignment via Google Classroom.
You will be expected to work for up to 5 hours per week on activities at home, as directed by your tutor.
The course is continuously assessed using a variety of assessments – you will complete written assignments and a learner journal.
Guidance is given throughout the course regarding opportunities and careers. Upon successful completion of this course, you may progress onto the CACHE/NCFE Level 3 Diploma in Supporting Teaching and Learning or study to become a teacher.
You will need to bring a notebook and pen with you.
