CONTENT & OVERVIEW
This is a knowledge-only qualification. Work experience is not mandatory.
The purpose of this qualification is to increase your knowledge and awareness of the Prevent Duty and Safeguarding, including on-line safety.
By completing this qualification, you will develop knowledge of safeguarding in an environment where you have a duty of care for others.
To achieve this qualification, you are required to successfully complete 3 mandatory units by producing online written assignments and tasks.

This course is aimed at people who have a duty of care for children, young people or adults. It is also aimed at people who are interested in this type of work.

You must be 19+ years of age by 31 August 2019. There are no formal entry requirements, but you must have a keen interest in the subject, a good level of English and the ability to work independently.
A variety of teaching and learning strategies will be employed in the classroom.
You will be taught relevant topics through activities and discussion and undertake independent research. Your tutor will assess your work by written assignment via Google Classroom.
You will be expected to work for up to 8 hours per week on activities at home, as directed by your tutor.
The course is continuously assessed using a variety of assessments – you will complete written assignments and a learner journal.
Guidance is given throughout the course regarding opportunities and careers. Upon successful completion of this course, you may progress onto the CACHE/NCFE qualifications in Principles of Equality and Diversity at Level 3 or above, qualifications in Managing Equality and Diversity in Organisations at Level 3 or above.
You will need to bring a notebook and pen with you.

- Job Seeker’s Allowance
- Employment and Support Allowance (ESA) in the Work Related Activity Group (WRAG)
- Universal Credit and earning less than £338.00 a month (single claim) or £541.00 (household claim)
- Aged 19-23 yrs studying a first full Level 2 qualification
Fee remission is also available for eligible co-funded learners who are employed but on a low income (less than £16,009.50 annual gross salary)
