You must be 19+ years of age by 31 August 2020. There are no formal entry requirements, but you must have a keen interest in the subject, a good level of English and the ability to work independently.

Content & Overview
The aim of this course is to increase your knowledge and awareness of children and young people’s mental health. This course can lead you to progress onto further qualifications and on into relevant employment in the health and social care or education sectors.
Unit 1 – Understanding children and young people’s mental health in context
Unit 2 – The factors that may affect children and young people’s mental health
Unit 3 – Understanding children and young people’s mental health concerns
Unit 4 – The impact of children and young people’s mental health concerns
Unit 5 – How to support children and young people’s mental health concerns

This course will be delivered via blended learning. Five sessions (one per unit) will be delivered in the classroom, strictly adhering to current social distancing restrictions and the remaining course materials will be accessed online using Google Classroom. Please note: If social distancing measures change, this course may move to 100% distance learning with the five sessions being delivered via a live virtual classroom i.e. Google Meets.
All assignments are set online for you to complete at a time convenient to you to meet the deadlines.
You will be required to complete five online assignments (one assignment per unit) and an individual learning plan (ILP).
