Ann O’Rourke, one of our Lead Tutors, recently took advantage of North Lincolnshire Council’s volunteering scheme which aims to help people in the community. The scheme ‘TeamNL volunteering: Together we can’ allows employees to use up to 15 hours of paid work time to spend volunteering.
Ann has worked one hour a week with Sophie since March 2024 following the one-to-one reading programme, ‘Yes We Can Read.’
Ann spends approximately 35-40 minutes working through the exercises and for the rest of the time Sophie reads her library book. This support has improved Sophie’s reading and encouraged her to read more.
