Andrea

I lead the ESOL department and I have been teaching ESOL at AECL for over 20 years. I find my job very rewarding and exciting because every day is different for me, I know how important it is to be able to speak and understand people because English is my second language as well. Therefore, I am aware of the challenges and expectations that ESOL learners have and I like to share my knowledge and expertise with them to help them overcome difficulties, become more confident and motivate them to be successful.

I’m one of the English tutors. I’ve worked for AECL for approximately 18 months and previously taught in primary education. Moving to work with adults has taught me lots about my own teaching and how I can support different learners’ needs.
I am passionate about teaching English as I believe improving people’s reading, writing and communication skills is the most important step to helping them explore new opportunities and further learning.

I’m a tutor with the ESOL Team. I’m new to the role here and am loving the job!
I have worked in education for more than 20 years and I’ve been teaching for over 15 years. One of my favourite aspects of the job is meeting the learners. Learners in ESOL often share stories of their lives, cultures and traditions which are wonderful for us all to hear. I’m as enthusiastic about teaching now as my first day of teaching. I just adore that ‘lightbulb’ moment!

I am one of the English tutors. I have worked here for 10 years and have loved meeting new learners during this time.
We have worked hard over the past two years to develop different ways of delivering the English course, including distance, face-to-face and intensive. We are sure to have a model to suit you and can’t wait to welcome you.
