Matrix Accreditation Review 2020
“The speed of response to the Covid-19 lockdown has meant that learners and staff feel that AECL has remained consistently supportive. The existing use of Google Classrooms and other technologies means that the Service was well prepared for moving to a virtual only delivery model. Learners complimented their tutors, the customer service team and the Careers and Employability Co-ordinator for their speed of response, professionalism and caring attitude when providing remote support.”

Learner Comments
"Learning new skills has boosted my self-confidence and self-esteem. It helped me to set targets and successfully achieve them. I also now have a positive feeling of achievement. Interacting with other students helped me build and strengthen my social relationships. I am now a registered Immigration Advisor for the Settlement Scheme working with a local employer."

"It’s really surprised me, as I was nervous to do it but now I feel very confident. Never think you can’t come back into Education. It’s there for everyone."

"The courses I have done have given me the confidence to join other classes such as the walking group at the Arc. They have also led to me living a more healthy lifestyle. I now have the confidence to apply for jobs."

"I have gained a huge amount of confidence in myself and now believe I can do something if I set my mind to it. I know it’s ok to say, “I’m proud of me”. During my voluntary placement I was offered a teaching assistant position. I have gained confidence and self belief as well as a rewarding career after my course at North Lincolnshire Adult Education and Community Learning."

"As my children were getting older, I felt that I wanted to do something to educate myself. Gaining these skills has made me feel I can have a career rather than just a job. Not only has it helped me, but I can now show my daughter how to do spreadsheets and formulas. I can also help her with her homework. Now I have these digital skills I can also do my husband’s accounts on a spreadsheet."
